Match report
Despite many injuries this was an emphatic win for ICT but the 3 points were not safe until the last minute. Both sides had early moves on goal but the Inverness side began to dominate and took the lead in the 19th minute. A neat flick by Wayne Addicoat to Barry Wilson on the right set up a run by the winger into the box. He sent over a ball which came off the keeper - Scott McLean stretched and succeeded in knocking it home. In 27 minutes Jim Calder saved well at the feet of Alex Bone and Andrew Allan completed the clearance. The home side had a reprieve 3 minutes later when Brian Martin headed past with Calder stranded. The referee amazingly took no action in the 35th minute when Addicoat was through on the keeper before being body-checked by Pat Clark. In 58 minutes it was 2-0. A Hugh Robertson ball out of defence reached McLean who beat Clark and ran on to score from just inside the area. McLean should have completed his hat-trick in 70 minutes when he was set up by Christie inside the Stirling box. He hit it past under pressure from a defender and the advancingkeeper. Stirling clawed one back 2 minutes later when a Chris Wood chip found Alastair Graham unmarked and he headed it home. The home side pressed for more and keeper Gary Gow made heavy weather of a Robertson shot in 78 minutes. With full time very close a lob by Christie into the Stirling half found Wilson running free. Offside was not given so he kept going, rounded the keeper, took time to linger on the line and confirm play had not been stopped then stroked it over for 3-1. A minute over time Stirlings Nicholas got the better of Allan but Calder produced the save of the match to tip it past the post. The Inverness side remain second with a 10 point gap over Clyde.
