Subway Extend Caley Thistle Shirt Sponsorship
Scottish Premiership League club Inverness Caledonian Thistle FC have agreed a contract extension which will see the internationally-known SUBWAY® sandwich chain continue as main sponsor for the 2015-16 season.
SUBWAY® stores have committed a six-figure sum to help manager John Hughes in his plans for the new campaign.
Caley Thistle chairman Kenny Cameron said: ”We are all delighted that Liam Dalgarno, Nin Atwal, Haj Atwal and the Subway team have decided to extend their main club sponsorship for another season. Subways first year as our club sponsor has turned out to be the most memorable in our short 21 year history and we look forward to working with them again in season 2015 / 16. For the club to be continuing its association with the global Subway brand is a winning combination.”
The SUBWAY® brand has been working with Heart Research UK for the last five years, encouraging people to eat healthier and lead an active lifestyle. The SUBWAY® brand is also the only retailer on the high street to be able to sign up to UK Government Department of Health’s seven nutritional related pledges, encouraging people to eat and live in a healthier manner.
Liam Dalgarno, a former pupil of Hilton Primary School and Inverness Royal Academy, owns the three Subway SUBWAY®franchises in Inverness plus one each in Nairn and Elgin.
Liam is also the Development Agent for SUBWAY® stores in Essex, Suffolk and Norfolk, finding, recruiting and supporting franchisees and locations in that area.
Mr Dalgarno said: ”I am delighted to work with the club for another year. This agreement has benefitted us commercially by helping to raise brand awareness as well as allowing us to remind football fans of our efforts as a brand to get everyone living more active lifestyles. From a personal perspective, the sponsorship has allowed me to realise a long held dream of sponsoring my home team, the fact it has coincided with such a successful season for the team is a bonus!
I firmly believe, having been lucky enough to meet both the players and the managers, that their closeness as a team and the excellent team spirit they have fostered has been pivotal to the club’s success this season. Every single person is proud to play for the club and gives it their all on and off the pitch week in week out.”
The SUBWAY® brand also supports the youth development programme at Luton Town FC and is the Official Training Food Partner for Liverpool FC
Subway SUBWAY® stores offers a whole range of great tasting, healthier food choices while making a priority of reducing the business’s environmental footprint and encourage people in the local communities they serve to lead an active lifestyle.
Caley Thistle manager John Hughes expressed great pleasure at the extension deal.
