Korrie Founder is New Caley Thistle Director

Inverness businessman Donnie Fraser has accepted an invitation to become a director of Scottish Cup holders Inverness Caledonian Thistle FC.

Donnie, a keen supporter of the club, is founder and managing director of Inverness-based plumbing, heating and renewable energy firm Korrie Group.

Club chairman Kenny Cameron said: ”We’re extremely pleased to further expand our board with the addition of Donnie Fraser. He brings proven business insight combined with a passion for the game.”

“Donnie has been of valuable assistance to the club in several ways in recent years and his experience can be of great help to us going forward.”

“I am sure his input will be of significant value to us at boardroom level.”

Two years ago Korrie installed a biomass heating system at Tulloch Caledonian Stadium which has generated significant benefits and savings in heating costs.

In June 2014 Korrie Group agreed a sponsorship deal with the club in which they became the first business to have their name and website on the back of the team’s shirts.

Helensburgh-born Mr Fraser, a prominent amateur footballer, has lived in the city for more than 30 years and has built up Korrie to be a major local employer.

He commented: ”I have been more than willing to show commitment to Caley Thistle when required in the past but was nevertheless surprised and delighted to be invited to become a director.”

“The club has done marvellously well on limited resources and will shortly become the most northernly Scottish club to play in a top European competition. ”

“Maintaining such progress is challenging in the club’s financial environment. But I’m happy to offer my enthusiasm and expertise in any way that is felt appropriate.”
