Neil McCann
“We’re just keeping things going at the minute. That balance is what we need to find, we may have it better next week when we have the full week heading into the St Mirren game.”
“We’ll probably be able to do some more functional stuff on the training field but, for now, it is just about keeping ticking over and making sure it is reinforced.”
“I think the benefit we’ve had is going into the games, there’s a team spirit working together and it was really impressive going into that Ross County game.”
“We then go to a really difficult place and they had a wee spell when we were 2-0 up but I think the boys really trust what we’re doing right now. I think they’re really trusting what we’re doing as a group on the field. I think they believe they’re hard to score against but the nice thing is there’s a belief in us that we’re going to score goals so it’s a nice wee mix to have going into the last four games of the season.”
“I think you have to respect the league because this division can change so quickly. I know there’s not too many games to go now and we’ve got ourselves into a good position but that comes from a real desire, hard work, team ethic and performance.”
Team News
Neil McCann said: “Anthony McDonald will be a bit long term but I know the procedure he has done has been successful. He’ll be given time to recover, it has been a real shame for him not getting any real time with us before getting an injury but he’ll be supported by the club and we’ll keep an eye on his rehab.”
“Aaron Doran joined training today [Thursday} which is great but we need to be careful with him because he suffered a reoccurrence when he came on the last time. It’s another quality player joining the squad for some training time.”
“Sean Welsh has been carrying a wee injury for a number of weeks now. Like many players they want to go onto the pitch and play through it. Sean is one that we’re hopeful for at the weekend but we need to wait and see. We try to give right up until the decision has to be taken to see if they are going to be fit or not.”
