Local McDonald’s franchisee Craig Duncan and Inverness Caledonian Thistle F.C are thrilled to announce McDonalds’ sponsorship of the Inverness Caledonian Thistle Mascot programme. The McDonald’s Matchday Mascot Package ensures youngsters are given the best mascot experience, as they lead the team out of Tulloch Caledonian Stadium and from this month McDonald’s are donating branded footballs, refreshments and vouchers to the package. Young mascot, Shaun MacKinnon was one of the first to enjoy the experience on Tuesday 2nd January.

As part of the package the youngsters will receive a gift package from McDonald’s, which includes a branded football, fruit and water throughout game day and a voucher for use in either of the McDonald’s restaurants in Inverness. As well as this, mascots receive a tour of the stadium, gain exclusive access to the changing rooms, meet players, see the pre-match warm up, receive match tickets, a photographic memento and a car park pass, as part of the club’s package.

Local franchisee Craig Duncan, who owns and operates eight restaurants across the north of Scotland, said: “I’ve been a McDonald’s franchisee in Inverness since 2007 and I’m extremely proud to part of this close-knit community. Our new sponsorship deal with Inverness Caley presents a great opportunity to show support for our wonderful football club, its supporters and the town itself. It’s an exciting time to be a Caley Jags fan and I’m delighted to be part of it, I’d like to wish the club all the best for the remainder of the season.”

Jim Oliver, Commercial Manager at ICTFC, said: “Our partnership with McDonalds is a great example of how the club wishes to engage more with our community.  Boys and girls love to feel part of the game they love and what better way to get involved than being a mascot for the day. Craig is a Season Ticket Holder and he approached us with many ideas that will be beneficial for the club going forward. One of the ideas was the sponsorship of the McDonald’s Matchday Mascot. We look forward to working with Craig and the McDonald’s team to promote grassroots football in the local community”.

McDonald’s is a long term community partner of the Scottish Football Association and recently celebrated its 15th anniversary of championing those who enable children and young adults of all genders, ages and abilities to enjoy the game of football.
