On the win against Peterhead
“The game, at times, and you saw it after about 10 minutes , became a bit farcical. Both teams were trying their best to play a bit of football and adapted well to the horrendous conditions.”

“It was hard going, but we tried, when we could, to get the ball down and play, and you can see that our goal came from that. It was a massive boost because it was a really hard game; they hadn’t lost at home in eleven months. We came up the road and were delighted with the three points.”

Getting back to winning ways
“We were kicking ourselves after the Kelty match. I think we were the better side and had done enough to win the game, but we didn’t. At the end of the day, we need to be winning, especially when we’re at home.”

“It was frustrating, but the boys responded well. It was a gritty performance against Peterhead, and we limited them to one early shot on goal. I was really pleased with that, but that is in the past now, and we move on to Saturday.”

“It is always a hard game when we face Montrose. They’re a good side and have players who can hurt you, so we need to make sure we’re at our best this Saturday.”

On the spread of goal scorers
“I think in all competitions we’ve scored 50-odd goals and have had 12 or 13 different scorers. It’s really pleasing, and that is what you want. If the strikers are having an off day, then maybe a defender comes up with a goal to help out. It is important that we have goals in the team, wherever they come from.”

On Montrose’s recent results
“When a team isn’t in their best form, they may come up here and feel they’ve got nothing to lose. That is when I think a team is at its most dangerous, when they are trying to get a result and a run going. We’ll try to be at our best, as we try to do every week, and we need to focus on ourselves.”

“Our fans, both home and away this season, have really got behind us, and hopefully they can, once again, create a great atmosphere to get right behind the team and drive them forward on Saturday.”
