Thoughts ahead of the game against Hamilton Accies
“Sometimes people can say the lay-off does you good and other times it doesn’t as you had that bit of momentum, and you want to keep that going. It is important that we get that going again and this Saturday is a massive game.”
“We’ll prepare for the game; it will be a big one and we’ll need to be at our best. In the reverse fixture away, I felt we could have done better against them. The condition didn’t help, it was a horrendous day for a game of football, and they adapted better at times than us that day.”
“They’ve got very good players, they’ve shown that and they are a good attacking threat. I watched them last weekend against Stenhousemuir, they have a real good threat in their team. Off the pitch, they are going through a horrible time. Sometimes, like it did with us last year, it galvanises your group and we need to be wary of that too. We need to try and look after ourselves and make sure we’re prepared for the match.”
Thoughts on Wednesday’s win against Tranent
“I thought we started the game well in the first 15 minutes, got our goal and then we came off it a little bit. We allowed Tranent to come into the game and we lose the goal, which wasn’t one of the best goals to lose. The boys responded well, we got back in front, and we managed the game pretty well.”
“As much as they had moments and got into good areas, I think we had the better chances when Alfie Bavidge has gone through on goal and we’ve had one or two moments also. If you’d said to me pre-match that would be the result, I would take that all day.”
“They got stuck in, you can see why there are cup upsets and it is credit to the boys because we’ve gone two and a half weeks without a match. It was a bit all over the place trying to plan for the game not knowing when it would go ahead. It was a real difficult game and the most important thing is we progressed through the tie.”
