- Manager John Robertson is delighted to announce the club has secured the signature of one of the hottest prospects in Scottish football – 17-year-old Daniel MacKay – on a three-year deal and, at the same time, retained the services of fans’ favourite Aaron Doran for two more years.
Daniel is a Scottish schoolboy international striker who has broken into the first team squad with impressive performances, which have excited the fans.
He is not only the youngest player to play for the club he is also the youngest player to score.
John said: “Daniel is a special talent and we are delighted to secure his signature on a three year contract. He is an exciting prospect and will be pushing really hard for a first team start next season. He is one of a number of exciting young players coming through our youth system.”
Of Aaron Doran, the manager said: “Aaron has a two-year agreement and, given his great finish to the season and now being fully recovered from a terrible injury, we look forward to seeing him at his very best again.”
John added: “We are really pleased that both have signed and committed their future to the club.”
Sadly, of course, not everyone can remain on board. The club can now announce that players being released are John Baird, Collin Seedorf, Steven Foster, Liam MacDonald, Andrew MacRae, Alasdair Stark, Keir Smith, and Mitch Foy. We wish them well for the future.
