Raith Rovers v ICTFC

Betfred Cup Group Stage

7:45pm kick-off

Stark’s Park

John Robertson

“Winning games at any time is important, to build the momentum and confidence. We’ve been playing the same team for the last four or five weeks, just because we have nothing else.”

“It’s nice to have the likes of Shane Sutherland, Aaron Doran, James Keatings, Danny Devine etc. back in the squad because we’ve had so many injuries it is incredible.”

“I don’t think we can qualify, I had a look at all the groups and even if we win the next two games with a big score, it wall the thumping victory and walkover wins in other groups it doesn’t look like we can qualify.”

“For me it’s about getting players match fit now, we’ve got Aaron Doran, Shane Sutherland, Danny Devine, James Keatings and James Vincent all started training back last week.”

“It gives them an opportunity to get some minutes under their belt because the likes of MacGregor, Mackay, Harper, Allardice, Deas and Duffy in particular have played a lot of games.’

“Had we had our full squad they’d maybe have not played as many minutes and been a lot fresher.”

Team News

John Robertson said: “The next two matches for us are about getting our injured lads back in the fold.”

“We’re hopeful that Miles Storey may join the squad for training by the end of the week to add another string to our bow but it is important we get these lads back up to match speed.”
