Partick Thistle v ICTFC

Saturday 10th November

Firhill, Glasgow.

Referee: Steven Kirkland

AR1: Frank Connor AR2: Craig Wilson

The Manager: John Robertson

“It was disappointing not to come away with the three points against Ross County but it was a fantastic game of football. Two committed teams going at each other, like two boxers trying to knock each other out but neither could land that final blow, both had chances to win it. We felt we had more and better clear cut chances but either team could have won it. It was a really fantastic spectacle, the fans were the real winners on the day as they witnessed such a great game.”

“Thistle are doing the opposite to us, they are winning games and losing games but haven’t drawn any. Thistle have won a couple of game at Firhill so they are a dangerous side. Gary Caldwell is trying to find the right format and formation, he’s come in to a new set of players that he will only know a fair bit about, and he’s trying to find that magic formula, the formation that works for him and his players and finds the switch that turns them into winning games.”

“They have played well at home and had some good results there this season, it’s still a tough place to go and every manager in the league will tell you the same thing. We’re going down there, we don’t see Partick Thistle any worst or better a chance to pick up three points that when we played Ross County last week.”

Team News

Shaun Rooney misses out after coming off injured against Ross County with damaged ankle ligaments. Carl Tremarco also remains out with a thigh injury and is expected to be out for a minimum of 2-3 weeks.

The Opposition

Partick Thistle have recently changed their manager with Gary Caldwell replacing Alan Archibald last month. Caldwell has lost his first few matches in charge as he looks to turn Thistle’s season around. The last meeting between the Thistle and the Caley Jags ended in a 3-2 win for ICTFC after first-half goals from Jordan White, Shaun Rooney and Sean Welsh.
