Head Coach Scott Kellacher
On the St Johnstone match
“We were disappointed losing the match in the 89th minute. That’s where we need to be more switched on late in the game, but I thought the boys did great. In the first half there wasn’t much between the teams, St Johnstone had more of the possession but we allowed that to happen.”
“We had a real go in the second half, and I thought we possibly deserved to win the game, based on chances. We’ve had two real good chances; their keeper has pulled a great save off but at the end of the day if you don’t take your chances you leave yourself open to a late goal.”
“I couldn’t ask for more from the boys, you can see we’re getting there and I think each week you see progress so hopefully come the start of the league season, we’re ready to go and everyone is up to speed.”
Thoughts on the upcoming match v East Kilbride
“We know we’re in for a real hard game, East Kilbride have made a great start and they’re desperate this season to go and win their league to get up. There’s a lot going on at their club and they are going in the right direction because their performances have been good.”
“They have some cracking players there; Mick Kennedy and Simon Ferry are doing a great job. We’ve watched them a few times, the way they play the game is exciting so hopefully we’re in for a real good game tomorrow night.”
Thoughts on progressing through the Group
“We’re in a similar position to Raith Rovers where we’ll need to win our next two games, we have two away games, and we normally do ok on the road. We have to be positive, we’ll go into the games to win and take them one at a time.”
Looking to strengthen the squad further
“It’s making sure we get the right players in that fit with our style of play. We have to be patient on that, I wanted everything done yesterday but it doesn’t quite work like that!
There is a lot of work happening behind the scenes to try and make things happen and fingers crossed we can get our business done in the next couple of weeks.”
Team News
“Everybody is looking good apart from one or two that are carrying small knocks, but we’ll assess them on Monday to see where they are for the match.
We’ll assess Ross Millen today, it’ll most likely be 50/50 for the game but if he’s feeling it we won’t be taking any chances with him. We can’t afford to have players out long term, so we have to look after them in the short term.”

Thoughts on the East Kilbride match
“It’s going to be a tough game; we know what they’ve done so far in the league cup so we’ll need everyone at their best to get the win. They are a difficult side to play against, especially on their own pitch, so we’ll need to be well prepared for them.”
Thoughts on progressing through the group stage
“We’ve got to have that belief; it’s obviously going to be a bit trickier now, but we’ll take each game as it comes. If we win our games, then there is every chance we can progress and that is what we’re trying to aim for.”
Thoughts on having moved back to the area
“I’ve been on the road for a couple of years now, which was different because I was at Ross County for a while. I’ve travelling around a bit, but it is always good to be home, where I’m most comfortable. Hopefully I can play some good football here and I’m enjoying it so far.”
