Kenny Cameron

Kenny Cameron has announced his retiral as Chairman of Inverness Caledonian Thistle FC and as a director of the club.

“It is time for me to step down and leave others to take the club forward”, he said.

“When my appointment as Chairman was announced in September 2011 it was described as ‘a short term arrangement’.”

“This ‘short term’ arrangement has lasted almost six years and due to financial restrictions I also found myself  taking on the role of Chief Executive, as the funds were not available to fill the post.”

“It has been my privilege to support the club in a variety of roles as we continued our eventful journey. We have experienced periods of exceptional success over the years and for a club, still in its infancy, to achieve what we have on limited resources makes that success all the more remarkable”

Mr Cameron added “I extend my grateful thanks to my fellow directors past and present, staff, shareholders, sponsors, volunteers and supporters who have generously contributed to our club with their unstinting support and dedication over the years. I owe a great debt of gratitude, in a list too long to mention, to all the players and management teams who served the club during my tenure.  I also thank the many friends I have made in football for their help, good counsel and humour which was always very much appreciated.”

“I urge the public of Inverness to strengthen their support for the club. It is never an easy task to remain competitive and successful on limited funding whilst remaining debt free, and it is always a difficult pathway to navigate.”

“Although hard work at times, I have thoroughly enjoyed the challenges of the role and it has been my privilege to serve as Chairman of Inverness Caledonian Thistle FC; I have many wonderful memories.”

“I may be leaving the boardroom, but will continue to support Caley Thistle from the stands on the next phase of our journey.”
