The club is saddened to learn of the passing of John “Stootie” Fraser, who was a very well known Inverness footballer of the 1940s and 50s, playing 12 seasons with Caledonian and one season with Clachnacuddin.

He played left back and inside left and for a number of years was skipper of a highly successful Caledonian side.

Indeed he is the last surviving member of the team in our photo.

John Stootie Fraser is pictured in the front row second from the right.

The cup is the Scottish Qualifying Cup (North)

Stootie is survived by his son Roshie, who played for 19 seasons with Inverness Thistle and managed Clachnacuddin, and daughter Kathleen, who lives in Alberta, Canada but is  currently home in Inverness. There are 7 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.

The funeral will be held at William Fraser Funeral Home at 12.30pm on Thursday 1 August.
