Along with the other members of the board of Inverness Caledonian Thistle Football Club, Graham Rae was thrilled at the Club’s victory in the IRN-BRU Scottish Challenge Cup, with a 1-0 victory over Dumbarton FC at McDiarmid Park, Perth.

He said, “Winning a national trophy is a tremendous achievement for our Club as we prepare to celebrate our 25thanniversary.  It was a dramatic finish to a tense game.  I am delighted for the manager, his coaches, the players, the support staff and the 1,800 supporters who really got behind us to ensure we kept going to the final whistle.”

“It was great for Carl Tremarco to be the hero in scoring the vital goal.  Young Daniel Mackay showed just what a tremendous talent he is by coming on as a substitute and providing the crucial pass for the goal.  This less than 24 hours after scoring for Scotland Under 18 Schoolboys in their 2-0 over England at York.”

“Skipper Gary Warren and his depute Iain Vigurs were both celebrating the birth of sons in the week leading up to the final so great credit to them for their total focus on the game.  We send our very best wishes to Ami and Minnie Warren, and Kerry and Harper Vigurs as well as the new born babies”.

“We are also extremely grateful to all of our amazing people both on and off the pitch, as well as our shareholders and sponsors for their assistance, patience and commitment as the Club continues to restructure.  All in all a memorable week and hopefully, this triumph will provide the springboard we need for the final 9 games in the Championship.”

With our best wishes.
