Head Coach Scott Kellacher spoke to the media ahead of tomorrow night’s match against Queen of the South

On the win against Annan Athletic on Saturday
“I was really pleased with the performance, the clean sheet and the different goals we scored. We got our first penalty of the season which was good too. It was a mixture of goals and different scorers which was pleasing.”
“Overall, I was very happy with the performance, we won 3-0 and we’ve played in a lot of games where we’ve had a lot of chances and not always taken them, so it was good on Saturday for us to get our just rewards with the amount of goals we scored so I was delighted with that.”
On reducing the gap to 8th place with the win
“It was massive, the week before it was made a big game. But the one thing I’ll do is try and treat each game as a normal game, as much as everyone else makes it a huge game, so we don’t get caught up getting too high in terms of getting carried away.”
On Queen of the South
“Queen of the South are a very good footballing side; I think they’re a very good team and they have a great home record. We know how hard a game it is going to be; we’ll try and be at our best. We’re back down the road and it’ll be another long journey but we’ll go down there and give it everything we’ve got.”
On the chance to go one point behind 8th place
“We’ve got closer so that’s what we need to keep doing. Our focus is on catching Annan, and if we can get beyond that then brilliant. Our main focus is on staying in the league and that’s always been our priority. To get that win on Saturday was huge as it just claws more points back.”
On the team’s recent progress
“I realised what we’ve got in that dressing room. I was always quietly confident we’d win games of football. I’ve always said we’ll lose games along the way too but I’ve always thought we’d win more than we lose. It is about making sure we win enough to stay in this league so that’s our focus, it’s been my focus since coming in, it’s the players’ focus as well. That is the mindset and the mentality we have at the minute.”
On Charlie Reilly’s status
“That deal has finished; the loan has expired and unfortunately, he is not under 20 so that rules out bringing him back. It was a shame because he’s a very good footballer, we’d have loved to have him back but if we are to take any players now they must be under 20.”
On Alfie Bavidge
“Alfie has been a breath of fresh air since coming in. He wants to score goals , wants to be in the right place, he anticipates things and he could’ve had a few more on Saturday if it wasn’t for their keeper pulling off some great saves.”
“Since coming in he’s worked ever so hard, along with Alfie Stewart and all the boys. I think he’s enjoying getting game time which we said he would get and he’s got that bit of freedom in the final third and you can see what he’s produced in the past couple of games. He’s an exciting player to watch and that is what you want.”
Team News
“We’ve got a few struggling; we’ve got a few injury doubts. They’ll be assessed today [Monday], and we’ll see where they’re at after that. We’ve got a few but we’ll try and get through it, manage them and see how they are.”
