Head Coach Scott Kellacher spoke to the media ahead of tomorrow’s William Hill League 1 away match against Annan Athletic
On last weekend’s match being postponed
“We’d have preferred the match to be on last weekend because it would have given us a good rest building into the Tuesday night match and now, we have a heavy schedule coming but that’s football, we’ve all been there.”
“We’ll batter on and get on with it, there’s no point moaning about it. It is what it is.”
On Annan Athletic
“We know it is going to be a hard game. I say it, week-in week-out that every match in this league is going to be hard. You need to earn the right to play and take control of games and it is something we always speak about.”
“They’re fighting to say in the league as well and they’ve got a decent side there. We went down there on the first away match of the season; we know how hard it is going to be, and we’ll go down there and try and focus on ourselves. We’ve done our homework, and we’ll give it everything we’ve got.”
On the Transfer Window
“There’s nothing going about at the minute, I’ve heard bits and bobs about clubs being interested and that’s what you’re going to get when boys are doing well. You want boys to be playing well every week and we’re getting results and that’s the main thing. As far as we’re aware, nothing will be happening in the short term.”
On Alfie Bavidge and Alfie Stewart coming in on loan
“The two boys have been excellent, their attitude has been great, they’re a credit to themselves and Aberdeen.”
“Alfie Bavidge came in and scored in his first game which is ideal, as a striker you want to come in and make an impression right away.”
“Alfie Stewart came off the bench against Dumbarton, he’s been great in training and you can just see he’s itching to get going so he’ll get his chance and he’ll get game time here, he just needs to be patient.”
“The two of them have been brilliant and have added a bit to training in terms of the standards they bring and that is what you want when adding players.”
Does the match prep change with the postponement last weekend?
“We’ve gone over some stuff again; we did all our prep work last week so that is still in our heads. We’ve gone over wee bits, and the boys know about the game on Saturday and what is needed. We know it’ll be a real tough week, we’re on the road three times so we’ll keep our heads down, we’re going to have to look after the boys, the younger boys are going to play their part so it’s opportunity as it is a big ask for everyone to play all three games.”
The Team News
“We’ve got one or two wee niggles here and there but hopefully they’ll be ok”
