The first of our pre-season matches takes place this Saturday. The Caley Thistle squad will be spilt into two as we take on Strathspey Thistle and Clach away from home.

“The aspect of it is, for the sports science element we play double dunt games. Instead of taking a big squad down and everyone playing 45 minutes, we feel it’s best for us to get 60, 70 or 80 minutes out of most of the players. It’s two back-to-back games to get their match fitness up, it’s a different type of fitness everyone will tell you that. You can do all the running you want but once you start chasing a ball it becomes completely different.”
“These two games come at a nice time, the players have worked extremely hard and are in very good shape. You saw them running in training and they are in very good shape, we’ve upped the ball work and then we’ll look at everybody to make sure there’s no niggly injuries.”
