IRN BRU Challenge Cup Semi-final Update:
As you will be aware, there is some doubt that our semi-final tie with Crusaders will go ahead as scheduled on Saturday 17 February. This is because Crusaders may be required to play in the Northern Ireland League Cup Final that day. They have a twice-postponed semi-final tie against Dungannon Swifts to play on Tuesday 30 January. If they lose, then our semi-final can go ahead on 17 February. If they win, the SPFL have indicated that our semi-final could be played on 24 February, with our scheduled home league game against Morton being re-arranged. We have advised the SPFL that the rearrangement of the Morton game is not acceptable and that they must find a solution that is acceptable to ICT FC. If we are knocked out of the Scottish Cup on Tuesday night, the tie could be played on 10 February, if acceptable to Crusaders.
Supporters should be assured that we have expressed our disappointment to the SPFL at the way the arrangements for this match have been handled. In particular, we feel aggrieved that we are being asked to accept dates that suit the Opposition and believe this is not in keeping with the fairness and integrity of the competition.
We will keep you informed of developments.
