John Robertson has been awarded the Ladbrokes Manager of the Month for October, with Carl Tremarco named as the Ladbrokes Championship Player of the Month for October.
Both were keen to stress their awards were testament to the team as a whole and not just to themselves as individuals, as the spoke to the press this lunchtime.
ICTFC were undefeated during the month of October, winning three of their four matches and doing so without conceding a goal.
Manager John Robertson said: “It’s fantastic for the club, that’s the main aspect of it. Managers will tell you all the time, it’s about the players and they are correct. It’s hard work that the boys have put in on the training field since the Dumbarton game, and they’ve been fabulous.”
“Six clean sheets in this league is fabulous, especially when you consider some of the away games we’ve played. We’ve had to go to Falkirk, Dundee Utd and Livingston with us unfortunate for us not to will all of them.”
“They’ve worked very hard and you could have picked any of the players, and not just the defensive lads, you could have any of them in the teams, the midfield guys and the guys up front. They would have all been equally worthy of the award.”
“It’s great for Carl, it’s a massive boost for him coming back into the team and he’s been a huge part of the defensive unit. It’ll be a huge boost to his confidence and he’s won it after such a long time out injured.”
While Tremarco told the press upon winning the award: “It’s testament to everyone at the club turning a sticky start around. To be honest, I think anyone in the changing room could have got it. Yeah, it’s nice, but it’s only an award give me a winners medal at the end of the season then I’ll be happy.”
“As a team we’re on a good run so everyone is helping each other out. It’s nice to be recognised but, the old cliché is that it’s a team game but in this case, especially the start to the season we’ve had, we’ve dug down deep together and we’re getting our rewards now.”
