tudur jonesIt's Jones The Cap - Owain called up for Croats duel

Owain Tudur Jones has been called up by Wales manager Chris Coleman for Tuesday's World Cup tie with Croatia at Swansea.

It is well deserved reward for a fine SPL season in the Caley Thistle midfield for the lad from Bangor, North Wales.

By coincidence, Owain's first cap for his country came on March 26, 2008, and it would be curious if his latest appearance fell on the same day.

After he joined Caley Jags in July 2011 he started the season so well that then manager Gary Speed called him into the Welsh squad but he had to pull out through injury.

Manager Terry Butcher said: "It's great news that Owain is back in the Welsh squad. He's had a superb season for us, forming a formidable central midfield partnership with Ross Draper, so it's nice to see him gaining this recognition."

Jones, who cost Norwich City £250,000 from Swansea in 2009, has gained six senior caps and three under-21 appearances.
