Caley Thistle progressed to the fourth round of the SPFL Trust Trophy thanks to a first-half brace from Adam Brooks and a goal from Adam MacKinnon in the second-half.
The win puts the Caley Jags into the Tuesday’s fourth round draw, which will be shown live on the SPFL YouTube Channel at 1pm.
Manager Duncan Ferguson was forced into x changes Calum MacLeod, James Nolan and Connell Ewan coming in for the injured trio Flynn Duffy, Charlie Gilmour and Paul Allan, who all dropped out of the squad.
Caley Thistle made a dominant start, Billy Mckay saw his effort saved by Derek Gaston after just six minutes.
The Captain went close again after 17 minutes, this time he met Adam Brooks’ back-heel just outside the box but his effort was over and behind.
Caley Thistle broke the deadlock after the half-hour mark, Adam MacKinnon played Adam Brooks through the middle and the striker stayed composed and slotted past the keeper to opening the scoring.
Caley Thistle had a second after 38 minutes later through Brooks again. The Striker stepped up to take the free-kick after being fouled and his effort from about 30 yards found the back of the net after a deflection.
In the second-half, Caley Thistle found a third as James Nolan saw his shot saved after a good move and the rebound fell to Adam MacKinnon in the box and his effort took a deflection into the top corner for a third.
