Ayr United v Inverness CT

Saturday 25 January 2020

3pm kick-off

Somerset Park

The Manager: John Robertson

“We had a good win against Ayr in December, we played very well but they’ve picked up again. Mark [Kerr] is starting to settle down, he’s got a squad there that got a very good result last week as they beat Ross County in the Cup.”

“For them, knocking out a Premiership side, they’ll be delighted with that. That shows you the danger they possess, they are not where they are in the league for no reason. They have talented players up front, a very good midfield and a solid defence.”

“We’ve got to go down there and do what we’ve done at Dens Park and Alloa, that’s go down there and be very busy and very proactive with the ball and when we lose it make sure we’re nice and solid. The key to our success all season is our solidity at the back.”

“You look at the fact Mark Ridgers has the most clean sheets in all the divisions in Scotland, that’s something he’s very proud of and something that the defence is very proud of and so they should be because we’ve done very well in that respect.”

“We just keep going into each game and if we can win with a clean sheet then it is a bonus. If we concede and we win then it’s a win and all we’re concerned about is putting as many wins on the board as we can.”
