ICTWFC return to home action this Sunday after the winter break, as they face Renfrew LFC at Millburn Academy with a 12.30pm kick-off.
Manager Karen Mason spoke to ictfc.com to look ahead to the match and look back at last weekend’s win against Morton.
How pleased were to pick up the three points against Morton in the first game back after the winter break?
It’s always good to get 3 points away from home but this was even more pleasing considering we hadn’t played a match in 5 weeks, we had no training in the build up due to the snow and we had 3 regular starters unavailable.
You find yourselves currently top of the league, how good a feeling was it to see that after the match on Sunday?
It so happened that without East Fife playing we had that opportunity to go top and it’s always a nice sight to see and have the points on the board but we aren’t going to get carried away with ourselves, there is a lot of work still to be done if we are to maintain that.
Back at home for the first time in 2025, what do you expect from Renfrew for this match?
We had a really tough match against them when we travelled to them earlier in the season with a very young and depleted squad. We were 1-0 down then went ahead 2-1 in the second half only to lose an equaliser with the last kick of the 10 minutes added! So I would expect another tough encounter on Sunday.
Also, have preparations already began for the 3 Peaks challenge in May for Sophie’s Story?
Preparations have well and truly started with a couple of long distance walks for most of the group. We are aiming to hit more heights now that the weather is improving. The girls have done all the organising of the logistics, the fundraising and training schedules around our matches.
