ICTWFC return to home action this Sunday at Millburn Academy as they face Ayr United, 12:30pm kick-off.
The team’s 12-1 win against bottom side Hutchison Vale in their last outing sealed a top four place and the ICTWFC boss was pleased for her side to get over the line after a strong start to the campaign.
Speaking to ictfc.com, Mason said: “We were pleased to have got over the line and given the start we had it was somewhere we were hoping to be at the start of the season. It was more important for us to get back to winning ways and get our first win of the calendar year.”
Mason has said the team are looking to improve things against the top three sides in the league, who ICTWFC will play to close out the season.
The ICTWFC boss said: “We can’t take too much from the goals we scored against Hutchison Vale as they have struggled throughout the year and most teams have put multiple goals past them. Against the top 3 teams we have struggled to create many opportunities so we will definitely be aiming to improve this as well as making ourselves harder to score against. “
Looking ahead to this weekend’s match, Mason expects a tough match against Ayr and will call upon the team’s Under 18s squad this week to help boost numbers.
Mason said: “Ayr for me are the best team in our league and play the game the way it should be done and they are rightly in the position they are fighting for promotion. The games have also been competitive and close so I am sure nothing will be different this weekend.”
“Unfortunately we are missing a lot of players due to holidays and injuries so we are drafting in some more from our under 18s to bolster our squad. We are just looking to make it as difficult as possible for them and hopefully put a spanner in the works for their play-off spot.”
