Inverness Caledonian Thistle goalkeeper Dean Brill, today handed out FREE tickets to Saturday’s SPFL Premiership clash with Motherwell.

The Inverness club have turned Saturday into “Volunteers Day” and teamed up with HTSI (Highland Third Sector Interface) to recognise the contribution that thousands of Highlanders make to their communities every day by giving away FREE match tickets.

Brill dished out the first batch to the Scottish Orienteering Association and added “Volunteers do an amazing job in all levels of the community and I’m delighted to handout some tickets, hopefully more volunteers come forward and claim theirs. It’s an excellent idea, as these people don’t often get the recognition they deserve so I’m thrilled they can come and watch us play Motherwell this weekend. Hopefully we can put on a performance for them so they come back and watch the team in future”

Mike Rodger, Moray Regional Development Officer at Scottish Orienteering Association was one of the first to take up the clubs offer. “When I heard about Volunteer Day it was a complete no brainer. As a Caley Thistle supporter myself, this was a really appropriate way of rewarding some of the many volunteers who have helped me develop orienteering in Moray during the last 2 years. It’s even more appropriate as we’re in the process of recruiting over 500 volunteers to help with next year’s World Orienteering Championships that will be centred on Inverness.

All 11 of my group who are coming on Saturday are looking forward to the experience. Some of them have never been to a professional game in their lives. I’m confident that the boys will put on another entertaining show to make sure your new converts will want to return.

ICT is a fantastic community club with a playing squad to match. I hope that initiatives like Volunteer Day help to spread the word about what local sports fans are missing out on.”

Volunteers/Voluntary Organisations who are looking to claim free ticket(s) can do so by emailing info@htspinterface.org.uk or call their local TSI office on 01349 864286 for them to make the request on your behalf.
