Inverness Caledonian Thistle FC have been honoured by the City of Inverness Area Committee of The Highland Council with a civic reception at the Town House, Inverness, to mark the club’s 25th anniversary.
The event will take place on Saturday 20 April following ICT’s home fixture against Dundee United.
Provost of Inverness, Helen Carmichael, said: “We are delighted to recognise this important milestone in the club’s short but distinguished history with a civic reception.
There have been so many highlights, culminating in the Scottish Cup success in May 2015 and playing in Europe later that year. Success for ICT reflects so well on our city and I wish the club every success in the future, beginning with victory in the forthcoming Scottish Cup semi-final tie against Hearts.”
Graham Rae, Chairman of ICT FC, said: “We are honoured to have been granted a civic reception to mark our 25th anniversary. Throughout our short history, the Council has been a steadfast supporter of our club, most recently in consenting to the transfer of the lease for the stadium and stands back to the club. In our silver jubilee year, we want to engage more closely with our local community so that the city and the wider Highlands benefits from our activities and success on the pitch.”
