Dear friends,

We are marking a highly significant anniversary today (Friday 9 August). It is 30 years since we played our first competitive game in the Scottish League following the merger of Highland League sides Caledonian and Inverness Thistle.

Caledonian Thistle – as we were known in our first two years – defeated East Stirlingshire 2-0 in a Coca Cola Scottish League Cup first round tie at Firs Park, Falkirk.

Four days later on Saturday 13 August 1994, we defeated Arbroath 5-2 at Telford Street Park, Inverness, in our first Scottish League Division 3 game which saw the late great Alan Hercher score a 19-minute first half hat-trick. The games have brought back particularly fond memories for fellow director Graeme Bennett who played in midfield in both games.

Wonderful days and over the past three decades we have enjoyed many memorable occasions, most notably winning the Scottish Cup in May 2015. What an achievement!

No one at the club is happy with the predicament we find ourselves in today, playing in the SPFL League 1. It has been a really challenging close season but I have my fingers and toes crossed that better times lie ahead with an injection of new funds.

We are rightly proud of our history and hopefully a bright future lies ahead.
