ICT Festive Friends @ Home

In December, we had our annual Festive Friends meal at the stadium where we treat some of our elder friends to a meal just before Christmas.

Festive Friends is a Partnership with The Scottish Professional Football League Trust which looks to help socially isolated older people within our community.

In another powerful demonstration of the positive impact football can make in local communities, socially isolated older people would normally be invited to Caledonian Stadium to enjoy a free 3 course Christmas meal, receive a gift and meet new friends including staff from the clubs.

This Year the ICT Trust will be delivering hampers to the local community.

ICTCDT Head of Community Craig Masterton:

“This year has been challenging for us all, during lockdown we run our #icttogetherness campaign visiting and delivering COVID survival packages to some elderly members of the community.”

“I am delighted to be involved in the Festive Friends initiative again this year and with the added twist of delivering the packages to the community is welcomed to continue this in these challenging times.”

“The programme is about so much more than just the hampers and the other benefits cannot be overlooked so teaming up with Inverness Morning call & visiting service, Alzheimer’s Scotland, Highland Hospice we hope we can make a real difference.”

At ICT in the Community Trust we recognise the difficulties that many older people face during the festive period and the impact this can have on their physical and mental health. Festive Friends is a very simple but hugely effective project to make a real difference and provide a memorable day for many.
