We welcome Cowdenbeath tonight for our BetFred League Cup group stage tie and our first competitive home match since the 10th March and accordingly we wanted to update the fans on our progress on streaming matches.

As per our previous communications back in the summer, we pledged to stream all of our applicable SPFL Championship matches from the Caledonian Stadium to our season ticket holders (subject to certain conditions) and we have been working on this project for a number of months.

To try and avoid some of the teething problems which have been evident across the country at other games, we firmly believed that we should carry out as many test events as possible to minimise the chance of issues, particularly in relation to the robustness of both the new camera system and the streaming platform itself.

In conjunction with our new streaming partners and the SPFL, tonight will see our last full test of this new technology at the Caledonian Stadium and we had planned to make the game available for free but we have subsequently been told that this would be a breach of the competition rules.

We believe that this information has been issued to all clubs following a number of examples of this happening last week at other games and therefore our plans to gift the game to fans tonight, unfortunately have to be shelved.

All of that said, in conjunction with our new streaming partners and the SPFL, we are quietly confident that they will help us deliver an excellent product to you, starting from our first Championship match against Ayr United on Saturday, 24th October.

We will subsequently be in the position to fulfil our pledge of live streaming of all home SPFL Championship games on a free-to-air basis to our season ticket holders and corporate partners and also on a PPV basis.

We thank you as ever for both your support, and patience, and we look forward to bringing you live football very soon.
