The club would like to thank the vast majority of supporters who attended Saturday’s match and backed the team with outstanding vocal support throughout another memorable victory and achievement in the club’s short history, as we secured the Scottish League 1 title.

Your support has once again proven invaluable to the players and staff throughout the season. You truly have been our twelfth man, and together we can continue to build a legacy of pride, unity and respect for our football club.

Unfortunately, the beginning of the celebrations were overshadowed by the actions of a small number of individuals who chose to engage in physical altercations with visiting Hamilton Academical supporters, rather than celebrate this special occasion alongside the players and fellow supporters.

Such behaviour has no place at our football club. The actions of these individuals have damaged the reputation of the club and may now result in the club being required to answer to the SPFL, with the possibility of significant sanctions and financial penalties being imposed.

Damage to Stadium Property

In addition to the incidents involving supporters, the club also suffered considerable damage to seating within the North Stand. Repairing this damage will place an unnecessary financial burden on the club, with funds having to be diverted from other areas of the stadium and operational budget.

These additional costs may impact future improvement projects and could reduce resources available to support the team ahead of the new season.

Ongoing Investigation

The club is continuing to investigate the incidents that took place on Saturday and would ask anyone with information, photographs or video footage relating to the disorder to contact the club directly. Any information provided will be treated in the strictest confidence unless otherwise requested.

Cooperation with Authorities

The club’s Safety and Security Team is working closely with Police Scotland and Hamilton Academical to identify those responsible. Any individuals found to have been involved can expect to face lengthy club bans and further action where appropriate.

While the actions of a small minority have disappointed everyone connected with the club, we know they do not reflect the values of the overwhelming majority of our supporters, who continue to represent the club with passion, pride and respect.

We thank all supporters for their continued backing and ask everyone to help ensure that future occasions remain safe, enjoyable and memorable for the right reasons.
