Inverness Caledonian Thistle Football Club today confirm that Willie Finlayson has stood down as Chairman of the Board effective immediately.  As advised previously, the Board has elected Graham Rae as the next Chairman of the Club.
Outgoing Chairman Willie Finlayson commented, “I am very pleased that Graham is taking on the role of Chairman and I know that his energy, enthusiasm and smart thinking will be of great benefit to the Club going forward. My stint in the Chair was short but very busy and I am pleased with what we have achieved during a challenging period.  I am standing down for personal reasons but it was always the plan to transition with a new Chairman.  I have great memories of my time on the Board and will of course remain an enthusiastic supporter”.
Incoming Chairman Graham Rae remarked, “I would like acknowledge Willie’s considerable efforts and commitment to the Club while helping us re-structure during these last few months of unprecedented change.  On behalf of everyone at ICTFC, I would like to thank Willie for his many years of service as a member of the Board of Directors”.
Graham further commented, “On a personal and professional level, this is an honour and a massive challenge, couched with the recognition for carefulness.  Being entrusted with the leadership of this great Club is a responsibility that I take very seriously, and with the help of our employees and volunteers, I commit to give of my best.  Our goal is to get back in the Scottish Premiership playing great football and competing for honours.”
“Earning the trust of our supporters and the community is a pre-requisite to our shared success.  The Board is committed to improving communication and collaboration, enhancing leadership, governance and transparency, and implementation of a sustainable business plan that makes the Club more resilient and optimises the resources available for football”.
