Match report
Charlie Christies 150th game for the club proved to be a rewarding one for the home side. East Fifes tactics were defensive but a breakthrough seemed to have come in 23 minutes when Mike Teasdale set up Scott McLean. Teasdale crossed from the bye line for McLean to head goalwards McCulloch popped up out of nowhere to save. In 31 minutes Christie ran upfield, passed to Barry Wilson on the left and he ran on into the box. He passed inside for Scott McLean who hit it into the roof of the net from close range. In 59 minutes it was 2-0. Wilson sprinted down the right, cut inside, played a one-two with McLean then flicked it over McCulloch from 8 yards. With 20 minutes left a rash Ross Tokely tackle on Andrew Lawrie led to a harsh red card. Caley Thistle had to regroup with Martin Glancy going off to allow Andrew Allan to take over Tokelys defensive position. In 78 minutes Wilson limped off to be replaced by Paul Sheerin. He was only on the field for 4 minutes before he made it 3-0. He took the ball 40 yards out and ran forward into the left side of the box before scoring with an angled drive. 5 minutes later Mike Teasdale did the same to make it 4-0. From 40 yards out he won the ball and strode forward beating 3 defenders before hitting it past McCulloch from 10 yards. Livingstons defeat at the hands of Queen of the South reduces the gap between first and second to two points.
