Match report
A lacklustre game and a draw was a fair result. ICT nearly went ahead in 8 minutes but Ayr keeper Marius Rovde did well to block Davide Xausas shot. In 14 minutes Dennis Wyness sent in a high lob which went just past with Rovde off his line. The lead came two minutes later when David Craig sent over a low corner from the left and it fell for Barry Wilson he found an opening in the crowded goalmouth and shot high into the net from 15 yards. Craig tried a long, high shot in 34 minutes but Rovde tipped it past. With two minutes of the first half remaining a high cross from Neil Tarrant on the right reached Marvin Wilson on the left just inside the ICT box. He scored with a low shot to make it 1-1. With only four minutes of the second half gone Tarrant was one-on-one with Les Fridge and should have scored. Fridge did well to touch it for a corner. There were few other openings but Martin Bavidge had a glorious chance to score the winner with four minutes left. A clearance rebounded into his path and he only had Rovde to beat. Thekeeper touched the shot away and Bavidges second effort went past the post. A goal would have been an injustice neither side deserved to win.
