ICTFC Team News

ICTFC were due to welcome Brechin City to the Tulloch Caledonian Stadium but the match has been postponed. The Caley Jags saw their match on Tuesday against Dumbarton also called off due to a frozen pitch.

Referee: Kevin Clancy Assistants: David Doig and Scott Leslie

The Manager: John Robertson

“We’re looking forward to the game, obviously we’re disappointed that the game against Dumbarton was called off but when you see the weather affecting the country it’s understandable. Right now, all our thoughts are on the safety of the public first and foremost, that’s paramount.”

“When you see what’s going on down in the central belt, normally it’s the other way about and we have to deal with the adverse weather and the snow but this time it’s the central belt and the big cities down south.”

“We’ll have to wait in the next 48 hours, to see if Saturday’s game goes ahead. Bizarrely, we don’t have a problem with the pitch this time, it’ll just be a question of whether Brechin City and their fans are able to travel here safely.”

“Our central heating hasn’t gone on yet, but we managed earlier in the week to head out to Fort George, which is still unaffected by the frost, and then due to the real drop in temperatures in the last 48 hours, we’ve moved to the Rugby club onto the field turf pitch which is in absolutely magnificent condition.”

“We’ve had some really good sessions and it’s quite bizarre because there’s no snow in Inverness and when you see what’s happening on TV in the rest of the country it’s absolutely horrendous. We seem to have been very lucky this time and got away with it, but we’ll have to wait and see what the situation is regarding Brechin travelling.”

“Brechin have caused lots of teams lots of problems, our last match is all the warning we need. We went ahead early and looked like we were going to sweep them away, but they fought back into it, when ahead and we went down to ten men and it took a lot of courage to dig out a win.”

“Brechin have freshened up their team, Darren [Dods] has got some emergency loan players in. Five new players played in their last game that we haven’t seen against us for Brechin, they’ve used the money from the Celtic cup tie wisely to get players in.”

“They’ll be desperate to win and there’s a lot of pressure, because of their long winless run, for the teams that play them now on who’s going to be the first side they beat. Brechin City players have got huge professional pride, part-time or not, and they’ll not like the fact they’ve not won a game yet.”

“They’ll be desperate to win a game, and that’s all the warning that my team needs. That’s the warnings we’ve given them this week yes we played them four times and won all four games, but those four games mean nothing and what happens on Saturday at three o’clock is all that matters.”

The Opponent

Brechin have had a tough season in the Ladbrokes Championship, with them yet to win in the league this season. Relegation seems inevitable for Darren Dods’ side however they’ve added to squad bringing in ex-Aberdeen midfielder Craig Storie, Livingston loanee Dylan Mackin, Hearts loanee Callumn Morrison, ex-Queen of the South midfielder Callum Tapping and Dundee loanee Kostadin Gadzhalov.
