ICTFC Team News

ICTFC welcome Dundee to the Tulloch Caledonian Stadium, in the Scottish Cup with a 5th round home tie against Motherwell on the line. The two side contested a tight 2-2 draw earlier this month, with George Oakely’s late goal earning Caley Thistle a replay.  The Caley Jags will be looking to bounce back after a disappointing 3-1 loss against Falkirk at the weekend.

INVERNESS CT -v- DUNDEE
Tuesday 30th December - 7:45pm

THE MANAGER : John Robertson

"We’re looking forward to it, it’ll be another tough game. Both sides had tough matches on Saturday and we come straight into it again, the players thoroughly deserved the replay and we’ve got a real chance now to cause an upset so that’s our plan. We want to go out tomorrow to try and progress, to get another Premiership side at home in Motherwell."

"There was nothing in the last game between the sides, the biggest complement on the day was that everyone agreed that a draw was a fair result, which is fantastic when you consider the differences in budgets and the perceived quality of players, but we’ve got good players here."

"We had spells in the game where we played very well, while Dundee also had spells in the game where they played very well and that’s what it’s all about between two evenly matched teams. We know the task in front of us won’t be easy, but we’ll go out there and play with the same commitment, passion and belief and then we’ll have every chance of winning the match."

THE OPPONENT

Dundee come into the game on the back of a 2-1 win against Hamilton Accies, which puts them 9th in the Scottish Premiership. Goals from Matthew Henvey and a 98th minute winner from Leitch-Smith got the Dee all three points against Accies.

In all competitions, Moussa is Dundee’s top scorer with nine goals to his name, with Leitch-Smith and O’Hara behind him with six goals to their names.

TEAM NEWS

Iain Vigurs and Liam Polworth return from suspension. Nathan Austin and Carl Tremarco are both out with hamstring injuries.

Club captain, Gary Warren had the following to say: "I’m expecting us to win, to be honest. We know a lot about Dundee, we’ve played them already this season and we know what kind of threat they’ll pose to us."

"At the end of the day, this is our place and it’s a tough place to come if everyone is at the top of their game. We have to make sure that everyone is at the top of their game if we’re to get something and to get through, but I fully expect us to win if that happens."

"They do pose a threat going forward, I think Neil McCann has got them set up in a way that’s like the way we used to be set up when John Hughes was here, they like to play a lot of total and attractive football which is pleasing on the eye. They’ve also got a few weaknesses in their team, and that’s what we’ll be looking to exploit."

Last Meeting Dundee 2-2 ICTFC (20/01/2018)

The sides last met earlier this month in a tight encounter, with George Oakley grabbing a late goal to earn ICTFC a replay.

ICTFC were ahead early in the game when Brad Mckay’s long throw found its way to Arron Doran to volley home in the box. However, a deflected strike from Letich-Smith which last hit Moussa and went in and a low drive from Mark O’Hara put Dundee ahead, with two quick goal after the break.

However, George Oakley stabbed home a Ricky Calder cross which found it’s way to him, to earn a replay for the Caley Jags.
