John Robertson's thoughts ahead of the match: “We’re at home and playing a lower league team so we expect to be on the front foot and take the game to Peterhead but the danger is there.”
“The League Cup section is all the warning we need. The fact is they finished second with Dunfermline and Hearts; and they of course beat Hearts in Peterhead. We have to be on guard here, we have to play the football we a capable of with the ball and defend well because we know the threat they have up front with Smith and, especially, with Rory McAllister; an ex-player of ours who will want to come back here and do well.”
“You have lads who’ve left recently, Jason Brown at the back who will want to show the club were wrong to let him go. We understand the threat they possess, they also have experienced with Willie Gibson, Simon Ferry, Stevenson and Dave McCracken. We know what we’re up against, we’re prepared and we’ve had them watched twice. We go into the game full of confidence and we hope to progress to the last eight.”
Peterhead were relegated from League One last season but have started life well in League Two with them sitting fourth after eight matches; 6 points behind current leaders Stirling Albion.
