ICTFC are back on home soil for the first time in four weeks as they face Livingston at the Tulloch Caledonian Stadium.
Despite coming from behind twice through John Baird and Liam Polworth , ICTFC fell to a 4-2 defeat against St Mirren last weekend. The result keeps ICTFC sitting 7th in the Championship table and one place behind our next opponents, Livingston FC.
The two clubs have played each other at least four times in every division. We have also met in the Scottish Cup, The League Cup and the Scottish Challenge Cup.
Referee : Craig Charleston Assistants : Graeme Leslie and Barry Reid
John Robertson has said the following in the build up to the game: “It’s another tough game but we feel as a team we’re improving, we’re playing better, some of our attacking play of late has been excellent with 10 goals in 3 games and it could have been a lot more, but we know, and we showed it again on Saturday that we have to defend better and we’ll pick up results that our play deserves.”
“We’ve been working hard this week on defending and our shape because on Saturday we face a Livingston side that’s full of confidence. They may sit only one place above us but they’ve only lost one game all season and that was against St Mirren. They’ve qualified from the League Cup group stages and are in the quarter finals against Hibs, that shows you the quality we face.“
“They work extremely hard and make it a fight, they’re a very difficult side to play against. They’ve a very similar style to Hamilton, they are in your face all over the park and just make it a scrappy game, so we are going to have to trust our football, our passing and our movement and if we do that there’s every chance we’ll get the result that we want.”
Livingston currently sit 6th, one place above ICTFC, with them earning a win and three draws so far. Livi’s only defeat so far in the Championship came against St Mirren, and they have Betfred Cup quarter final tie against Hibs at Easter Road to look forward to, after they qualified from the group stages as winners of their group and knocked Falkirk out with a 2-1 win at the Falkirk Stadium.
They are managed by former Chelsea, Palace and Scotland midfielder David Hopkin, who has taken to management well. Last season was Hopkin’s first full season in charge of Livi and he helped the club win the League One title by a 19-point margin.
ICTFC : Felitziano Zschusschen, Riccardo Calder and George Oakley back in training. Aaron Doran is set to join training in the next couple of week. Carl Tremarco available but not yet match fit. Collin Seedorf still out with ankle injury and Elbouzedi is to return within the next month.
Head to Head : ICTFC Wins : 13 - Draws : 8 - Livingston Wins : 12
Last Meeting : Livingston 0-2 Inverness CT (22/09/2015)
The sides last met almost exactly two years ago in the Scottish League Cup with ICTFC running out 2-0 winners.
Miles Storey opened the scoring for ICTFC as he capitalised on a mistake the Livi defence to round the goalkeeper and tap the ball into an empty net.
Danny Devine doubled ICTFC’s lead as he met Danny Williams’s free-kick at the back-post just before the break.
