Inverness Caledonian Thistle chairman Kenny Cameron held a two hour meeting with the Board of the ICT Supporters Trust at the Tulloch Caledonian Stadium this week in regards to the Rangers 'newco' situation.
It was an open and frank discussion with various scenarios being outlined, illustrating the various degrees of difficulty and financial stress involved for Caley Thistle.
Kenny Cameron, club chairman, said: "I was delighted to have the opportunity for this direct discussion with the Supporters Trust Board in addition to the huge number of individual representations I have received from supporters and season ticket holders in relation to the forthcoming vote on Rangers 'newco'. In addition to this, we have also been made aware of strong feelings among potential away supporters at our home games.
"I think it was understood by all present that there are no easy answers to the situation in which we currently find ourselves, and I have given the Supporters Trust Board an informed outline of the options and possible consequences. This is a unique situation for Scottish football and I hope our fans appreciate that our choices will be made, first and foremost, on what is best for ICTFC and Scottish football once we have all the information possible in front of us."
Peter Murphy, chairman of ICT Supporters Trust, said: "Although we speak to the club chairman on a regular basis, it has rarely been in such difficult circumstances for the club and Scottish football. The Supporters Trust Board were given ample time to put forward their views at the meeting and we are certain the club is fully aware of the feeling of strong unrest among our supporters with regard to the 'newco' situation.
"Our discussions with the club will continue, as will our assistance in collating and communicating the fans views during this busy period for everyone at the stadium."
"We now ask all Caley Thistle supporters to rally round the club in these trying times, and trust that Scottish football will come to the right decision in full light of the facts which are changing on a daily basis”
