Inverness Caledonian Thistle are looking to their young support to get right behind them at the IRN-BRU Scottish Challenge Cup final on Saturday 24 March when they play Dumbarton.

Children under the age of 12 will go free to the game as long as they are accompanied by an adult (or part of an organised group) and the club is hopeful this incentive will boost the travelling support to McDiarmid Park, Perth – home of St Johnstone.

Craig Masterton, ICT Head of Community Development, said: “This is a great offer by the SPFL and the cup sponsors, IRN-BRU, to encourage young people to attend the cup final.   We hope that as many schools and parents take advantage of the offer and get behind the team.  We will be going round the schools in the run up to the final to generate as much interest as possible.”

The availability of free tickets for under 12s was promoted at Hilton Primary School today when Mark Ridgers, Cammy Mackay, Joe Chalmers, Connor Bell, George Oakley and Zak  Elbouzedi paid a visit to the weekly coaching session run by the club’s community development team.

Mrs Margaret Lisle, Depute Head teacher, said: “This is a great opportunity for the children and families to support their local team in the IRN-BRU Cup Final, I hope as many families as possible take advantage of this generous offer. Everyone at Hilton Primary School wishes Caley Thistle all the very best.”

Tickets for the cup final are expected to be printed and available for sale early next week.

Season ticket holders will be given priority to buy tickets on Monday.

The rest of the club’s allocation of 3,100 tickets will be on sale from Tuesday.

The club has been allocated the North Stand and the northern end of the Main Stand.
