Caley Thistle Fan Drums Up Celebrity Support

Celebrities, including The Proclaimers, boxer Anthony Agogo and Erasure lead singer Andy Bell, are all backing Inverness Caledonian Thistle in this weekend's William Hill Scottish Cup Final which takes place at Hampden Park on Saturday 30th May at 3:00pm.

The famous stars are joined by former Caley Thistle players and other well known faces who are all lending their support via the "Good Luck" video ahead of the club's first ever Scottish Cup final appearance.

The video is the brainchild of Caley Jags Fan Stevie Riley, based in Glasgow, who has spent the last couple of weeks co-ordinating online efforts with other fans and using social media to encourage them all to back John Hughes and the players.

Riley commented "I first had the idea after we beat Celtic in the semi final when I was getting good luck messages from mates and work colleagues. I thought it would be great to get some celebs and ex players to make a short video. I trolled Twitter and tweeted every ex player and celeb that I followed. To my surprise I got a response and it snowballed from there, I told my friends who I go to games with and they did the same which resulted in more videos. The people who all sent in videos are excited to see what we came up with. The final can't come quick enough and we are all so proud of our club who not only have put Highland football on the map but have shown the great city of Inverness in such a positive light. Come on ICT!!"

Club commercial manager Iain Auld added "Stevie was in touch soon after the semi final win over Celtic and I'm thrilled that his idea has come together. The video is excellent and will help support the boys ahead of Saturday's showdown with Falkirk. Stevie has worked very hard to get all the good luck messages together and I must also thank club videographer Andy Johnstone, who has done a fantastic job pulling together the video messages as well as mixing in some tremendous footage and audio from the win over Celtic"
