Inverness Caledonian Thistle 5

Caley Thistle's second game in 48 hours gave some of the younger players a run out and a chance to impress and well, they certainly did that. Overall it's been a positive pre-season for Inverness and the final match in Scotland finished comfortably 5-1 to ICT.

A squad made up mostly of under 20's with a few senior players thrown in, the likes of Ross Draper and Daniel Devine getting match time after missing out the Arbroath game the night before.

Inverness CT took only six minutes to get the opener. Ryan Christie out muscling his man on the touchline before delivering to the back post for Nick Ross who had the simple task of tapping home from close range.

Wick nearly levelled ten minutes later after a fine effort from a Wick midfielder struck the post from 25 yards. Young Cammy MacKay in goal was stretching but was nowhere near it.

MacKay nearly had a moment to forget five minutes later after his attempted clearance was charged down by a Wick striker. Fortunately for MacKay the ball bounced off the outside of the post and went behind.

25 minutes in and Inverness got a second, this time good work by Adam Evans who controlled the ball well before playing in Draper who showed good composure to steer it past the keeper.

And three minutes later, it was 3. Joe Gorman providing the assist with a cross from the left and Evans was in the middle to volley home from 6 yards.

The second period started off a bit slow but Caley Thistle did add to their tally just after the hour mark, Christie getting his name on the score sheet after pouncing onto a slip in the Wick defence and coolly slotting it under the goalkeeper.

20 minutes to play and it was the substitute Ali Sutherland who got the fifth, Evans once again with the assist chipping it to the back post where Sutherland nipped in to head home.

Christie was then unlucky to see his effort hit the post before he narrowly shot wide from Greenhalgh's cross.

With it looking like Inverness were going to take a clean sheet back down the A9 Wick got a goal in the dying seconds, a goal their play probably deserved. A good finish into the bottom corner from a tight angle by a trialist.

FT: Wick 1 ICT 5
