-v- St Mirren

This Saturday, we welcome the Buddies from Paisley, St. Mirren FC, as a great run of form of late has lead us to within 2 points of the top 6.

After what seemed like half the content of the Moray Firth was dropped on Inverness in the hours leading up to kick off last Saturday the chances of a game going ahead seemed unlikely. But a super effort on everyone's part at the club, even the manager and chairman getting involved to try and get the game on proved crucial as Inverness pulled of a great win with another make shift team to beat Hearts.

This week's opponents St Mirren, praised for their passing style brought in under Danny Lennon looked like strong favourites for a top 6 spot early on in the season but a recent run of poor form has seen them slip to 9th just 1 point ahead of the Caley Jags. Without a win since their fine comeback over Rangers on Christmas Eve the Buddies will be desperate to get a first league win in 2012 come Saturday.

Nick Ross

Butcher was quick to praise his teams attitude after last weeks win and the team spirit at the club is showing as a defining reason for our resurgence as late. Steve Williams came in and on his full debut looked solid throughout, Shane Sutherland and Nick Ross showed experience beyond their years as they gave the Hearts team the round around and the Irish double act of Hayes and Foran showed there was no hard feelings following their tete-a-tete, choosing to take the game instead of each other by the scruff of the neck.

All the boys put in an outstanding effort and it shows that the squad at Inverness is strong and once we start getting some players back, and with the addition of loan signing Sam Winnal from Wolverhapton Wanderers, Terry will have a real difficulty in choosing a starting 11....although he will take confidence in the fact that even with 7 changes his team can go out and get the job done.

There have been 18 SPL meetings between the clubs, with ICT winning nine to St Mirren’s five. There have been four draws. Victories tend to come on a tit for tat basis in this traditionally close fixture but with ICT holding a 100% record over St Mirren this season, lets hope we can keep that up this Saturday.
